Project overview

Design and full-stack development of two business solutions for MartelExpress S.A. The imports system connects requests, offers, commercial invoices and packing lists with products, customers, warehouses and stock movements. The shipping system organizes air and sea operations through customers, recipients, shipments, master and house waybills, and individual pieces, bringing together weight, volume, costs and documentation. It also includes income and expense analysis, dangerous goods functions and an API for receiving waybills from remote offices. The imports solution was developed for the client; the shipping system is used in its operations.

My contribution

  • Translating commercial and warehouse processes into related forms, tables and document workflows.
  • Connecting stock entries and exits with requests, offers, invoices and packing lists.
  • Modeling air and sea shipping workflows with progressive access to shipment, waybill and piece details.
  • Integrating waybill reception from remote offices through an authenticated API.
  • Organizing operational income, expenses and dangerous goods documentation.

Technical notes

Application and data

Both solutions use Python, Django and MySQL, with server-rendered Django templates, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AdminKit/Bootstrap and jQuery. The shipping development configuration connects to MySQL through PyMySQL.

Imports

Requests, offers, commercial invoices, stock and packing lists are related to customers, products, warehouses and their entry and exit details. Forms, tables, detail views and printing utilities support the commercial and warehouse workflows developed for the client.

Air and sea shipping

Customers, recipients, shipments, master and house waybills and pieces structure the logistics workflows. Application roles and office-scoped data accompany separate air and sea transport domains, with operational income, expenses and dangerous goods documentation.

Integration and documents

Django REST Framework and API-key authentication support waybill reception from remote offices in the shipping system. Document tooling includes Openpyxl, xlwt and QR codes; Fernet supports integration credential encryption.

Operational scope

The shipping system is used by the client; no specific deployment is confirmed for imports. A separate shipping demonstration uses fictional data and SQLite; its additional dashboard is demonstration material, not a record of customer results. The original systems use MySQL.
